Discussion and a screening of “The Right to Read”, a documentary that follows Oakland NAACP activist, Kareem Weaver Wednesday, January 31st 6 - 8 p.m. Weaver believes literacy is our most important civil right. With a focus on Black and brown children, Kareem demands Oakland schools bring in science-based reading instruction. The branch is a collection site for Wake Up and Read's book drive of new and gently used books of donations.
